Criminal investigations against the activists of “European Belarus” have been started

A criminal investigation on “mass riots”, article 293 of the Criminal Code, has been started against five activists of “European Belarus”, as the telegram channel of the company informs.

On September 25 in Minsk activists of “European Belarus” Yahor Litvinka, Andrei Voinich, Anastasia Kiryk, and Pavel Yuhnevich were brutally detained. A criminal case based on part 2 of article 293 of the Criminal Code (taking part in mass riots) has been started against them.

It is informed that, in a different place at the same time, Yauhen Afnagel was detained. Government security services broke open the door into the apartment where he lived. As his wife was informed by the Investigative Committee, at the moment Yauhen is at the Offender Detention Center in Akrestsina and is also suspected of taking part in mass riots. This was confirmed by the main editor of “Nasha Niva”, Yahor Martsinovich, who happened to be in the same cell as Yauhen Afnagel and Pavel Yuhnevich.

It is informed that government security forces broke into the apartment where the activists of “European Belarus” were via both the door and the windows. During the assault of the apartment, the officers were armed and wearing masks. They confiscated all technical equipment, flags, and personal possessions of the detained. According to witnesses, activists were beaten and requested passwords from their Telegram accounts.

It is known that at the moment Anastasia Kiryk and Yahor Litvinka are under travel restriction.
